The Palindrome is a classic hand cannon from the days of the original Destiny. If you are looking for this weapon which is brought back in the Destiny 2 then you are at the right place. In this guide we will elaborate on how to get the Palindrome Hand cannon in Destiny 2. We will provide you with additional details such as its perks and god rolls in addition to the information of how to get it.
How to get it
This hand cannon was a fan favorite in the original Destiny. And now it is being brought back in the Destiny 2. There aren’t too many ways to acquire it right now but just one way.
Palindrome Hand Cannon
As already said above in this article that you can get this hand gun by only one way and that is by playing the weekly Nightfall: The Ordeal Strike. This weapon is in weekly rotation with two more weapons namely, The Shadow price and The Swarm.

If we see carefully then we will find that the rotation order of these weapons barely ever changes. That means if you have The Shadow Price in this week then you will get the Palindrome in the next weekly reset. If you are wondering that when does these weekly resets happen then let us tell you that happen every Tuesday.
One thing that you should take note of that it is not guaranteed that you will get the weapon in the very first drop. In fact, you have to keep going through the weekly Nightfall until you get the Palindrome in a drop.
Perks and Stats
This hand cannon is a Void Hand cannon from the original Destiny. It has a fire rate of 140 rounds per minute in the Destiny 2.
As far as perks are concerned, originally the Palindrome had ‘Luck in the Chamber’ perk, but in Destiny 2 it has ‘Bottomless Grief’ perk.
The Bottomless Grief perk
With each kill this perk of Bottomless Grief fills up your magazine, however it only happens when you are the last survivor of his fire team.
This perk may find some good use in the PvE but when a player is waiting for his team to respawn but in PvP such as gambit and Crucible it doesn’t seem to be helpful to that extent. However, if you find the perfect god roll for it then the matter is slightly different.
You can pair Bottomless Grief with Rampage to clean oof hordes of enemies in the in-game modes such as the Trials of Osiris.
God Rolls for the Gun
There are some handpicked God rolls for the gun in both the PvE and PvP modes for the Palindrome. Check them out below:
PvE God Rolls
- Appended Mag
- Overflow or Outlaw
- Rampage
- Corkscrew Rifling or Hammer-Forced Rifling
Corkscrew rifling gives this hand cannon a nice range and stability boost, but Hammer-Forced Rifling increases its maximum effective range only.
If you want to make the most out of your PvE experience then you can also go for the Appended Mag God roll which makes it rather useful under this situation.
PvP God Rolls
- Ricochet Rounds
- Quickdraw
- Rangefinder
- Hammer-Forced Rifling
The above are the rolls which can be extremely beneficial when in PvP mode.
Hammer-Forced Rifling and Ricochet Rounds provides you with a boost in your weapon’s maximum range. As a bonus, Ricochet Rounds also bounce your bullets off hard surfaces.
The rangefinder, on the other hand, this perk when paired with Quickdraw can make the Palindrome possible to use even in medium-ranged maps.
Conclusion
Palindrome is an useful weapon and it was quite a phenomenon with players in the old Destiny. Maybe that is why it found its way back in the Destiny2. If you would like to try out this hand cannon then we certainly recommend you to do so. Hope you find the article useful. Please come back for more and till then Happy Gaming!
