escape from tarkov wipe date

Escape from Tarkov was under development since quite some time now. Back in 2017, the closed Beta testing began. Since then it has come quite a long way. The mechanics are quite realistic in the game and it is widely acclaimed for that. The experience that it offers is immersive and is loved by hardcore FPS players.

What is a Wipe in EFT?

If you are unaware of the wipe then let us tell you that it is something that is something that usually complements patches, particularly the major ones, and all the progression of the players is reset. What it means is that your progress in quests, your trader rep, and your stash even will be restored to the starting point of the game. You again begin at level 1. They do so to avoid technical complications in the program after the patch.

However, if you have the Edge of the Darkness edition then you will get everything back whatever you had. This happens because of the patch. It requires the player progress to be reset.

So, When is the Next Tarkov Wipe?

The developers are releasing the major updates in a rather quick succession. As per the last update, i.e., the version 0.12.9, options for new character customization were added. And the game also got a wipe along with the customization options.

Right now we are not aware when will be the next wipe, but you can expect it after some time till the next major update which may or may not require a wipe. The last wipe had the date of 24th December 2020. Some patches require a wipe and some don’t.

A history of wipes of player levels and stashes so far:

  3. Apr 19, 2018
  4. Apr 09, 2019
  5. Oct 27, 2019
  6. May 28, 2020

So, it is difficult to guess, but we are going to update this post as soon as we get the information when Battlestate games reveal about the next wipe.

Conclusion

It is always better to be prepared for wipe. As the game is in closed beta state it is not uncommon to see a wipe happen. However, if you have not made to the top tier then it hardly makes any difference. But if you have made it to the top tier then you should rather be well prepared for a wipe.
