Now soon you will be able to change your display name. it will be available within the Account Details page. It as per the details in the Roblox Staff in a Developer Forum. Disp. Name Vs User Name (the difference)
When you first sign up for Roblox you assign your unique user name as your User name. This is the name you use to log in to your Roblox platform. You can change this name currently, although, it will cost you a 1,000 Robux to change it.
Display Name is that name which will appear in player lists, chats, etc. and above your character‘s head in the game. It is that identity of yours by which everybody recognizes you in the game. It should be a great name to describe your in-game persona.
Will changing the display names cost anything
It is hard to believe, but changing Display names will be totally free! You wouldn’t be charged any Robux! However, there is a catch here. Changing names wouldn’t cost you anything, but there will be a set of specific guidelines which you must adhere to. The specific guidelines are:
- It should be between 3-20 characters.
- It can only be changed once every 7 days.
- Must be verified by Roblox filters (i.e., display names must be appropriate for all ages).
Big question, when will the facility arrive to players?
As of yet there are no specific dates released by the developers. However, according to the staff at Roblox, the facility should be rolled out in the next few months. As of now, the game developers at Roblox are being encouraged to code in for the game as much as possible for changing the Display Names till it is ready to be launched for users.
