Update 1.5 for Stardew Valley has just come up. And it has dropped the largest content as on date since its launch back in 2016. Finally, we have split screen in Stardew Valley. The best time is now than ever before to jump into this cool farming game with your friends. In this update, you do not only get the local co-op but also you get new items, new areas, and new secrets to go for. If you are wondering how this split-screen works then you have come to the right place. In this guide, we will tell you how to play split-screen in Stardew Valley.

How to Play Stardrew Valley Split Screen

You need to build a cabin from the Robin’s for players whom you wish to join you to play split screen in Stardew Valley. Don’t worry if you are just starting this game because you can build cabins from the start from the advanced game options in the menu.

After you have got the cabins then you can go to the game menu and open it, scroll down and find Multiplayer, select it and then click on ‘Start Local Co-op’. other players can choose to join you by pressing the ‘Start’ button on their controls. When everybody has joined then you can zoom the screen and change the user interface settings from the Options tab in the game menu.

If you want to know how to play split screen in Stardew Valley:

  • You can Build a cabin from Robin’s for each player.
  • You can choose to have the cabins already built from the start if you’re starting a new game.
  • Please open the game menu.
  • Then you can Scroll down to Multiplayer and select “Start local co-op.”
  • Finally, you can press start on the additional players’ controllers.

Local multiplayer is similar to online multiplayer, therefore, all the rules and restrictions are applicable when you play split-screen. When you play split-screen, it is almost similar to playing solo, although your approach towards certain quests and sleeping is going to be slightly different in the case of split-screen as the addition of more players will need that to happen.

 The update 1.5 is right now applicable only for PC, however, other platforms such as Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo switch multiplayer and mobile devices will receive the update shortly in early 2021 itself.
